Give every creative test a clear question

Turn a broad idea into a focused brief your team can test and learn from.

Before producing several variations, agree on the question the test should answer. A focused brief makes results easier to interpret and helps a team avoid changing everything at once.

Start with the user’s problem

Describe the situation your app helps with in everyday language. Choose one idea to communicate, then show the relevant product experience. Use claims your team can substantiate and avoid guarantees.

Change one meaningful element

Test a hook, a demonstration, or a call to action while keeping other major elements consistent where possible. Record the audience, placement, and review window. Platform delivery can still affect comparisons, so treat results as evidence to assess rather than a universal rule.

Keep the learning

Write down what you observed, what remains uncertain, and what you would test next. A useful creative library includes the reason for each variation, not just the finished asset.
